The State Duma adopted a law on the approval of the agreement between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on cooperation in the field of natural gas supply via the Far East route. It has been reported DEA News.
The relevant agreement was signed on 31 January 2023. The parties agreed on the construction of the cross-border section of the gas pipeline from a gas measuring station (GIS) in Russia to the Hulin launch station in China. The division will be designed and further developed in Russia by Gazprom and in China by the China National Oil and Gas Corporation.
Now Gazprom supplies gas to the PRC through the Power of Siberia pipeline (the gas pipeline supplies gas from Yakutia to the Primorsky Territory and countries in the Asia-Pacific region – ed.). At the end of last year, its exports amounted to 15.5 billion cubic meters.
Russia and China before augmented swap volumes in national currencies.
