Jewelery dealers have made a proposal to the Ministry of Finance to relax the requirements for pickup points for marketplace orders, which should encourage the development of the remote jewelery trade. In this respect writer “Kommersant”, referring to the letter of Vadim Serov, Director General of the Goldsmiths’ Association, to the Ministry of Finance.
The Jewelers Association requested the exclusion of mandatory registration in the government system in the field of control of the circulation of precious metals, stones and products (GIIS DMDC) for marketplace collection points (POIs). We are talking about the fact that PVZ owners have to enter data on each product sold, along with detailed information. However, detailed data cannot be provided without violating consumer packaging. All this may result in the closure of some collection points due to the possible risk of administrative liability.
The letter stated that duty-free shops should also be included in the GIIS DMDC. In other words, the absence of duty-free sales points in the system causes some problems. For example, when returning an item, it cannot be considered in the system and such jewelry can no longer be sold outside the duty-free zone.
Market experts agree that current laws create a number of difficulties in the sale of jewellery. Therefore, manufacturers’ offers can ease the burden on businesses and attract more entrepreneurs to sell jewelry through marketplaces. At the same time, there are certain difficulties in selling jewelry through this channel, where there is a high risk of losing expensive items.
