Vittorio Torrembini, President of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs in Russia (GIM Unimpresa), said that most Italian companies continue to operate in Russia. He said this in an interview with DEA News.
According to Torrembini, 150 private companies that are part of GIM Unimpresa still operate in Russia. At the same time, 99% of the employees of these enterprises (about 65 thousand people) are Russian. The annual turnover of the companies is approximately 6 billion Euros.
The businessman noted that these enterprises are represented in various fields, and about 110 companies have their own production facilities in Russia.
“Some produce macaroni, cheese, sausages, others produce building materials, cement, ceramic tiles, and others are used in medicine and chemistry,” Torrembini said.
According to him, enterprises are scattered in all regions of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok. Some have multiplied their profits during the year they have now invested to grow their companies in Russia.
