Ukraine’s Ukrainian energy system received electricity from Romania as an emergency aid, Ukrenergo reported.

According to the agency, from 9 pm to 10 pm on May 27, the Ukrainian energy system received emergency assistance from the Romanian energy system to meet the evening peak of consumption.

“The reason for using emergency assistance was the lack of total capacity of Ukrainian power plants,” the Twitter post says.

The company said that there were also imports from Slovakia, but insignificant in the evening. Ukrenergo also noted that due to the synchronization of the energy systems of Ukraine and Europe (ENTSO-E), the use of emergency aid from neighboring countries has become possible.

The day before the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported About the resumption of electricity imports from Slovakia and Moldova.

In February last year, Kiev abandoned a joint energy system with Russia and Belarus. In March 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the completion of the unification of Ukrainian and European energy systems.
