IMF forecasts inflation in the USA for 2023-2024

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), shared her forecast for the inflation rate in the US for the years 2023-2024. TASS.

According to him, the IMF predicts that inflation in the US will remain above the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) targets this year and beyond.

Georgieva said that fund experts believe that according to IMF calculations, inflation in the US will fall slowly in 2023 and will reach about 4% by the end of the year.

He also noted that inflation will remain above the Fed’s medium-term targets throughout 2024.

In early May, Associated Press published Survey showing the US showing the lowest support for sanctions against Russia. Analysts say waning support for the sanctions may reflect people’s concerns that efforts to isolate Russia economically are fueling US inflation.
