Gunnar Beck, Member of the European Parliament from Germany, believes that European Union countries will continue to buy Russian energy through third countries at inflated prices. The deputy said in an interview with the newspaper: “News”.
Beck stated that although the European Union will further reduce its energy imports from Russia, the need for this will continue. Therefore, European states already import large volumes of Russian energy products through third countries. The deputy stressed that it was purchased at a much higher price.
According to Beck, Europe will continue to import energy products from Russia, pretending to come from other countries. Therefore, European Union countries will be prepared to spend much more money on such multi-stage imports.
Previously, the “Big Seven” (G7) countries made a joint statement announcedHe said that they will try to get rid of dependence on Russian energy carriers as soon as possible.
