Kabul is examining the purchase of petroleum products from Russian companies and wants to make a deal with Russian energy company Tatneft. “We want to make good deals with Russian companies, especially Tatneft. I hope we will continue to talk,” he said.
According to Azizi, in 2022, the country’s authorities held meetings with representatives of Russian oil companies, including from Tatarstan, about the need to import up to 4 million tons of petroleum products. As the minister stated, the country buys some of this demand from Iran and Turkmenistan.
