Bloomberg: Potanin and Alekperov could buy majority stake in Yandex

Billionaires Vladimir Potanin and Vagit Alekperov have expressed interest in buying shares of the Russian company Yandex and are already considering a proposal to do so. It has been reported Bloomberg.

It is stated that the deal may be closed at the end of 2023 – early 2024, and it is likely to adversely affect the company’s overseas offices as both businessmen interested in Yandex are under sanctions.

According to publication sources, the company’s Russian assets are worth about $7-7.5 billion.Businessmen are said to expect to buy at least 51% of the shares. Potanin and Alekperov’s proposal will be evaluated by Dutch parent company Yandex NV next week in Dubai.

Previously, the total wealth of the richest Russian billionaires augmented $16.35 billion from the beginning of 2023.
