Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said that Kiev plans to maximize its own production of nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants in order to remove the Russian Federation from the world market for fuel for nuclear power plants. He wrote this on his Telegram channel.
“We must maximize the potential of the Ukrainian nuclear industry and replace Russia in world markets. “We have a task to start the production of fuel for the VVER-440 reactor and to break the Rosatom monopoly in Europe,” he said.
According to him, Ukraine is also actively working in the nuclear industry to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Former Newsweek columnist Anna Skinner stated In his article that the United States continues to depend on Russia for the supply of nuclear fuel. Skinner’s material states that uranium enrichment is a highly specialized process that can only be carried out in countries like Russia. The Newsweek article also points out that US companies pay dearly for the resources needed to power the reactors.
