The Russian Ambassador to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov, said that he did not exclude the possibility of using the electricity produced at the Belarusian nuclear power plant for the needs of the Russian Federation. It has been reported DEA News.

“We have general programs related to gas, oil and electricity markets within the framework of sectoral programs of the State of the Union. “As we have programs for the common electricity market, it is naturally possible to use the energy produced in Belarus for the purposes needed in the Russian Federation,” he said.

According to the diplomat, Russia and Belarus have determined the stages of work for the commissioning of the second power unit of BelNPP. The power plant will be able to generate approximately 18.5 billion kWh of electricity per year, which corresponds to 45% of all electricity consumed by Belarus.
