Severstal and Rosbank come under new UK sanctions

The UK government has included Severstal and Rosbank on its sanctions lists, with the company and the bank noting that the restrictions will not affect their work. DEA News.

On 19 May, the UK updated and added the Russian sanctions list. The new restrictions were expanded to include several publicly traded companies, a bank group, and board members of several state-owned companies.
In particular, sanctions are imposed on AFK Sistema, Polyus, Severstal, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, TMK, OMK, RMK, Fesco Group, Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works (Mechel Group).

Severstal noted that since Severstal’s controlling shareholder was previously included in the sanctions list, the restrictions were in effect before and the new sanctions will not affect the company’s operations.

Also on the black list was Rosbank, where they stated that the financial institution continues to operate in standard mode.
