Former Greek Finance Minister Varoufakis says the country is bankrupt

Yanis Varoufakis, Greece’s former finance minister and leader of the parliamentary party MERA25, said the country was bankrupt. This was reported by the TV channel. Alpha TV.

According to Varoufakis, the recognition of this fact is a political issue. The former finance minister stressed that Greece’s public debt, including government guarantees, stood at €400,275 million as of December 31, 2022, increasing by €12 billion during the year.

“The country is absolutely bankrupt. If our bonds are selling well in the market, it’s because the European Central Bank winked at the traders and said, “I know you know the Greek state is bankrupt, but buy them and I’ll cover them for you.” said the politician.

Dimitris Koutsoumbas, former leader of the Communist Party of Greece declarationthat the country’s involvement in NATO’s aggressive actions against other states and peoples makes it a possible target for a retaliatory attack.
