USDA: Wheat production in Ukraine will decrease by 21% in 2023

The US Department of Agriculture said that in 2023, wheat production in Ukraine will decrease by 21% (USDA).

According to the Ministry, wheat production is expected to decline to 16.5 million tons. For comparison, wheat production reached 20.9 million tons in 2022. In 2021, Ukrainian farmers harvested 33.01 million tons.

It is estimated that the wheat export from Ukraine will decrease by 33% from 15 million tons to 10 million tons.

In addition to wheat, the production of other grain products is expected to decrease by 16% from 34.06 million tons to 28.67 million tons. It is expected that 22 million tons of corn will be harvested and its export will decrease to 16.5 million tons.
