About 20 Russian banks have achieved this, six months after the lifting of restrictions on banks with a basic license to open correspondent accounts abroad, State Secretary – Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Alexei Guznov said. It has been reported TASS.
“Significantly more than three banks with basic licenses opened accounts in foreign banks, about 20,” Guznov said.
According to him, the Central Bank, six months ago, temporarily lifted the restriction on opening foreign correspondent accounts for credit institutions with basic licenses, but the regulator does not believe that this is a solution to the problem of international settlement, only additional opportunity.
