Islamic Development Bank to allocate 450 million dollars to Tajikistan

The International Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will allocate $450 million to Tajikistan for the implementation of projects in priority sectors of the economy. In this respect Wrote TASS agency, referring to the press center of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Central Asian Republic.

A Tajik delegation headed by IDB President Mohammed Suleiman al-Jasir and Ministry of Economic Development head Zavka Zavqizoda agreed on the allocation of money in Jida (Saudi Arabia).

In particular, the money will be directed to the development of green energy, the construction of roads and educational institutions, the irrigation of farmland, the creation of textile enterprises and logistics centers, and the production of halal products.

IDB was founded in 1973. Members of the bank are 57 countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, Gabon, Mozambique. Its largest shareholder is Saudi Arabia. Tajikistan joined this credit institution in 1996.

Earlier this week, Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets estimated Initiation of Islamic banking mechanism in Russian regions from 1 July.
