These dynamics were made possible by the fact that the facility utilization rate increased by 18.5% compared to the previous year. The publication noted that this indicator is also 17.7% higher than in the first quarter of 2019, which is the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
Market participants think that the number of tourists booking and spending on accommodation increased significantly in the first quarter. At the same time, the best indicators were in the Moscow market, where the revenue of hoteliers increased by 40% to 22.5 billion rubles. In second place is St. Petersburg, where the increase in the revenue of collective accommodation facilities increased by 24% year-on-year to 7.8 billion rubles. Petersburg. Analysts think that growth in the hotel market could continue until the end of the year. However, there will be a significant increase in indicators for Sochi, Karelia, Baikal and Altai, while in other regions the dynamics will not be so high. At the same time, hotel business will be affected by factors such as the sharp decline in foreign tourist flows and the withdrawal of international operators from the market.
