Future negotiations to extend the grain deal will be decisive, but no consensus yet, reports DEA News with reference to a well-informed source.

The interlocutor of the Organization confirmed the decisive nature of the negotiations on a grain agreement in a quadruple format in Istanbul on 10-11 May. However, the leader also acknowledged that no progress has been made so far in resolving the issue and that the parties are far from reconciling. Currently the technical delegations have only discussed the various options and these will be discussed at a high level later.

The agency’s source said it was to be hoped that the negotiations would eventually lead to a consensus.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that the participants of the summit meeting on the grain agreement in Istanbul on 10-11 May to dispute Extension of the agreement and evacuation of Turkish ships stranded in Ukrainian ports. According to the statement made by the Ministry, both quadrilateral and bilateral negotiations will be held between the parties within the framework of the meeting.
