Germany can independently meet only 30% of its “green” hydrogen needs. This was expressed by Robert Habek, German Vice-Chancellor, Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Wrote agency TASS.
This causes Berlin to seek trading partners to secure the remaining 70%. “We need partners,” he said.
According to Khabek, to date, the republic has so far only signed agreements of mutual understanding with other countries for the supply of environmentally friendly hydrogen. He added that the basis for the country’s abandonment of fossil fuels is “green” hydrogen produced using solar and wind power.
Germany plans to completely abandon Russian coal and oil by 2023. By 2045, Berlin wants to achieve climate neutrality and switch completely to green energy.
