The Times: Bill Gates initiative plans to build small nuclear reactors for Britain

Bill Gates’ initiative TerraPower plans to bid for the construction of nuclear reactors in the UK. It has been reported Sunday Times.

The American company Bechtel and GE Hitachi and the British company Rolls-Royce can compete with the Microsoft creator company.

Gates’ venture was founded in 2006 and is building approximately $1 billion in small Natrium reactors with power ranges from 345 MW to 500 MW, which cost less to maintain than standard ones. A similar production model from Rolls-Royce costs about $2.5 billion. Small nuclear reactors are produced at the factory and then assembled on site.
