Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UN started negotiations to extend the grain agreement in Istanbul. This is stated in a post at: Web site Turkish Ministry of Defense.

“At the technical level meeting, representatives of the UN, Turkey, Russian Federation and Ukraine discussed the agenda and technical aspects of the deputy ministers meeting,” the ministry said in a statement.

It was noted that direct negotiations on the extension of the grain deal have been postponed from 5 May until next week.

Çavuşoğlu said the extension of the agreement would benefit “all the rich and poor countries of the world”. He added that it is necessary to be realistic and understand that the grain deal will not last forever.
