The Central Bank of Russia announced 17 trillion cash rubles in circulation – this is a new record for cash circulation in Russia, reports DEA News.
According to the Central Bank, at the beginning of May, this indicator increased by 3% since the beginning of April, exceeding the limit of 17,154 trillion rubles. However, in September 2022, Russian money showed the fastest growth in the volume of circulation – then the volume of cash in circulation reached 15,158 trillion rubles, with a positive trend of about 5%.
In just one year, the increase in cash circulation in Russia reached 20%.
Previously recognizedthe amount of funds in the National Welfare Fund (NWF) at the beginning of May of this year is 12.47 trillion rubles. This figure equates to 8.3% of Russia’s projected gross domestic product (GDP) for 2023.
The volume of liquid assets of the National Welfare Fund amounted to 6.82 trillion rubles as of May 1.
