European Commission bans export of Ukrainian grain to five Eastern European countries

The European Commission (EC) banned the export of grain from Ukraine to five Eastern European countries, allowing the transit and export of this agricultural product to other EU countries. This has been reported Web site EC.

“The European Commission has taken exceptional and temporary measures to export grain from Ukraine,” the statement said.

As stated by the EC, these measures will apply from 2 May to 5 June 2023. They said that during this period, wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed from Ukraine “can be freely sold” in all EU countries except Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

“The transit of these products from these countries may continue,” the statement said.

The EC also noted that these countries have committed to lifting unilateral bans on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
