Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the republic is ready to double its natural gas supply to Europe by 2027. In this respect Wrote TASS.
“We plan to double the natural gas supply by 2027… We hope to supply gas to 10 European countries, not 6, in the future,” Aliyev said.
The President attended the official signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding and cooperation between gas transmission system operators of Azerbaijan (Socar), Hungary (FGSZ), Slovakia (Eustream) and Bulgaria (Bulgartransgaz). It was prepared as part of the Circle of Solidarity joint initiative to improve security and increase the volume of natural gas supplies to EU countries.
The material says that now gas from Azerbaijan has been delivered to Italy, Georgia, Turkey and Bulgaria, Italy. Deliveries to Romania will begin this year, and both Hungary and Slovakia will be on the air by the end of the year if all inter-system gas pipelines work successfully.
On April 24, Bratislava authorities paid about 56.5m euros in compensation for high electricity and gas prices.
