The income of bloggers who work abroad and publish content on foreign platforms may be subject to personal income tax (PIT). In this respect Wrote Vedomosti newspaper gave information by citing a source.

According to the newspaper, the initiative was developed at the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry wants to impose this tax on the income of bloggers from Russia. Amendment to the article is expected. 208 of the Tax Code (income from sources in the Russian Federation and income from sources outside it).

According to the draft law, if Russian domain names, network addresses or servers are used in the performance of the business, the income from these activities will be subject to personal income tax if at least one of the three conditions is met.

Currently, for example, if a non-Russian web designer fulfills an order for a Russian company from abroad, he does not have to pay taxes. Sergey Kalinin, head of the tax office of the EPAM law firm, explained that such income is not considered to be derived from business in Russia. It is this gap in the law that they want to close. That is, the Russian segment of the Internet in terms of income received will be equal to the territory of Russia.
