Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telyus said Warsaw plans to extend the ban on grain imports from Ukraine until the end of the year. It announced this after the results of negotiations with partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.

According to him, the EU has proposed a ban until June, but Poland insists on extending the restrictions until the end of the year.

According to Telyus, it will represent the joint position of the five countries neighboring Ukraine in the European Commission in Luxembourg that suffer from the import of Ukrainian goods to the EU.

Former Polish authorities suggested The European Union will ban the import of not only Ukrainian grain, but also other food products, including fruits, eggs, poultry, sugar and honey.

It was stated that this issue will be discussed at the EU agriculture ministers meeting. If an agreement is not reached, negotiations at a higher political level are not rejected.

The author of the publication writes that, besides Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary are also planning to impose additional restrictions. Therefore, Bulgaria wants to further restrict the import of oil and flour from Ukraine, and from Hungary – poultry, honey and flour.
