Fatos Solt, Head of Turkish travel agency Şolt Tur, said that the first ferry services on the route between Trabzon port and Sochi are planned to start on 10-11 May. It has been reported DEA News.
According to Scholt, the travel agency’s partners in Sochi wanted to start flights after May 10 due to the holiday in the Russian Federation, and some documents need to be processed before May 1. He added that at the moment tickets are not yet on sale.
Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Erkut Çelebi said that as of May 1, ferry services on the Sochi-Trabzon route will resume after 9 years.
According to him, the ferry will take 200 cars, six buses and 12 containers.
Ferry services between Sochi and Trabzon ran from 1992 to 2014. The ferry used to run once a week. Travel time was approximately 12 hours. Also, a high-speed ship of the “Kometa” type traveled between the two cities, lasting about five hours.
