Polyethylene and polypropylene prices in Russia accelerated growth at the beginning of the second quarter of 2023. It has been reported “Kommersant”.

The publication highlights that by mid-April, the cost of some types of base polymers has increased by 10-15% since the beginning of the year.

Representatives of the industry information portal Plastinfo emphasized that the reason for the increase in prices was the decision of the producers to significantly increase prices from April 1st.

It was noted that the prices of HDPE pipe grades increased the most against the background of a shortage – by 10 rubles per 1 kilogram (about 130 thousand rubles per ton). In addition, the cost of linear low-density polyethylene increased by an average of 2.3%.
