Romania convened from April 24 to seal transit cargoes with agricultural products destined for Ukraine. This was announced on its Facebook page by the State Transport Security Service of Ukraine on Sunday (its owner, Meta, was considered an extremist and banned in Russia).
“From April 24, Romania will begin sealing vehicles transporting Ukrainian agricultural products in transit mode,” the publication said.
The ministry added that such a decision was taken after a meeting between Mykola Solsky, Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, and a colleague from Romania. At the same time, goods in transit will be stamped at Romanian customs. Therefore, shippers should prepare their trucks for sealing beforehand.
On 19 April, Member of the European Parliament Leszek Miller from Poland, referring to the media reports, statedThat Ukrainian grain, which does not meet the requirements of European standards, appears on the EU market. In this context, the parliamentarian asked the European Commission what other goods of poor quality could be supplied from this country to Europe.
Prior to that, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Food Robert Telyus said that the Polish side will seal and accompany grain and other agricultural products from Ukraine, as well as all cargoes transiting through the country.
