Some platinum mining companies in the Sverdlovsk region may suspend their activities due to changes in the calculation of the mining tax. About this TASS stated Commissioner for the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs in the region Elena Artyukh.

“Many platinum mining companies have experienced a 3.5x increase in their tax burden and it is difficult for them to withstand the financial burden of this change all at once. We received requests from an entire underground user group. According to their representatives, they will have to freeze production if nothing changes.”

According to him, mining in the region comes from alluvial deposits, so metals are extracted as concentrates.
