The Moscow Arbitration Court decided to indemnify Mikail Shishkhanov and Alexander Lukin jointly and severally about 283.9 billion rubles for losses arising from the restructuring of Rost Bank. In this respect Wrote Hit the lining.
Shishkhanov was the main owner of Rost Bank. Lukin is a former senior manager of a credit institution. Rost Bank was merged with Trust Bank in 2018.
The plaintiff in the case was the Central Bank, the co-defendant Shishkhanov and Lukin, as well as Kirill Lyubentsov and Alexei Farafontov, the former chairman of the credit institution. The court dismissed the allegations against the last two defendants.
The Central Bank announced in court that it compensated for the losses caused by the restructuring of Rost Bank. The financial recovery of the credit institution was carried out first by Shishkhanov’s Binbank, and then by the businessman. According to the plaintiff, the guilt of the defendants lies in inaction – the improper management of Rost Bank led to the need for reorganization.
The Trust representative explained that Binbank follows an aggressive policy of withdrawing deposits, in the future this money is transferred to Rost Bank in the form of interbank loans, from which it is already withdrawn in the interests of the beneficiaries. The plaintiff said that at the time the interim administration of the Central Bank was brought to Rost Bank, the deficit in its balance sheet was about 400 billion rubles.
The Central Bank decided to reorganize Rost Bank in 2014.
