Romanian Minister of Agriculture Petre Daya said that the European Commission (EC) has asked Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria and Slovakia to rescind its decision to ban Ukrainian grain imports. It has been reported DEA News.

The Ministers of Agriculture of Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria met on Wednesday to discuss the problem of Ukrainian agri-food exports.

As Daya said, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria, which participated in them, decided to ban imports as of April 22, but European Commission Vice President Valdis Dubrovskis, who was present at the meeting, stated that this decision was unlawful and contrary to the agreements on EU and Ukraine partnerships. The European Commissioner asked countries to cancel, otherwise “the recommendations of the European Commission cannot be implemented.”

According to the Romanian Minister of Agriculture, the flow of Ukrainian grain to Romania will increase due to the decision of other European countries, which will negatively affect local farmers.
