Russian airlines increased their transportation by 4.5% to 20.7 million passengers in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period of 2022. In this respect reported TASS, referring to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Russia.
“According to preliminary data, Russian airlines in the first three months of 2023 carried 20.7 million passengers (19.8 million passengers), 4.5 percent more than in the same period of 2022,” the ministry’s press service said in a statement.
As before reported, Russian airlines are working to increase demand to create affordable prices for airline tickets. At the same time, the Ministry of Transport noted that the domestic transport subsidy program has been extended. For this, from November 2022 to March 2023, 25.3 billion rubles were allocated.
In 2023, airlines are planned to carry 101.2 million people.
Earlier, the Association of Air Transport Operators appealed to the Ministry of Transport with a proposal for three new measures of state support for the Russian aviation industry. In 2023-2025, 7.83 billion rubles per year are allocated for this.
