A spokesman for UN treaty coordinator Ismini Palla said ship inspections under the grain deal have resumed after two days of talks. DEA News.
Palla said, “The delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine agreed that the new ships should take part in the initiative, after the negotiations under the mediation of the UN and Turkey.”
He added that the inspection teams have started to work.
Former Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Ukraine and the UN are having trouble inspecting ships covered by the grain agreement.
According to him, Ukrainian representatives only allow ships whose owners have paid bribes to participate in the Black Sea Initiative. That’s why there is a traffic jam in the Bosphorus: Paying shipowners are also waiting in line for inspection, while those who decide not to bribe Kiev stand empty for months in artificially created queues.
