Grain producers in Hungary lost 23% to 37% of their revenues due to grain flows from Ukraine. In an interview with Magyar Nemzet newspaper, declaration Hungarian Minister of Agriculture Istvan Nagy

“According to generalized data, the total import volume of cereals and oilseeds from Ukraine last year amounted to 2.5 million tons, of which 1.8 million tons were direct imports and 0.7 million tons were indirect imports,” Nagy said.

According to him, Hungarian farmers had to reduce the prices of food wheat by 27%, feed wheat by 37% and feed corn by 23%, compared to the previous year. At the same time, previously the grain supply from Ukraine was at the level of 40-60 thousand tons per year, that is, Ukraine’s imports increased tenfold during the year.

He added that Ukraine has recently had a duty-free regime and is replacing Hungarian products by sending honey, poultry and eggs to the European market.

Earlier on Monday, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger declarationBratislava will suspend imports of grain and other individual products from Ukraine, following Poland and Hungary.
