The Polish government authorized the heads of the relevant departments to temporarily ban the import of grain from Ukraine. It has been reported DEA News.

In the statement of the Cabinet of Ministers of Poland, it is noted that the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the republic summarized the current problems that have arisen in connection with the flow of agricultural products from Ukraine.

“Members of the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, discussed possible solutions and official measures that Poland can take to protect Polish farmers and consumers. Potential measures to stabilize the agricultural market were also discussed, the Polish government said in a statement.

Former Slovak Ministry of Agriculture prohibited processing and sale of grain came from Ukraine.

The solution to this was the pesticides found in Ukrainian wheat that could adversely affect human health.

Previously, it was learned that Romanian farmers had threatened to launch a nationwide strike from June 7th if the authorities did not ban the transit and import of grain from Ukraine from June 15, 2023 to March 15, 2024.
