The Sunlight jewelry chain is moving to a new technology, a local SD-WAN solution, to manage a geographically distributed corporate network. For this, the #CloudMTS provider provided equipment, software licenses, developed an implementation scheme and helped the customer implement the migration.
Partners in Moscow and the Moscow Region completed a pilot project. Now Sunlight plans to upgrade its network infrastructure at more than 300 retail outlets across Russia. It is assumed that with the help of the solution, the company can halve the costs of developing IT infrastructure throughout the year.
As Sunlight’s IT director Yury Matusovsky emphasized, the main task of this project is to ensure maximum fault tolerance of the corporate Internet in all stores of the network.
“For us, the interruption of communication with the outlet, even for a short time, can negatively affect the sales process. With Cloud SD-WAN, we will be able to manage the internet in all brand stores through a single interface and we will be able to intervene quickly if any point is unavailable.
The provider’s experts said that the Cloud SD-WAN solution allows you to consolidate thousands of outlets located in different cities and regions on a single platform. It has a more convenient and faster connection compared to standard routers. At the same time, no special knowledge is required to install the device in the branch – it can be installed by an ordinary employee. To do this, simply turn on the device to the network and open the activation link, which will be sent by e-mail. The necessary settings are made remotely by the network administrator through a single control panel in the cloud.
It should be noted that two communication channels are arranged for the device at each output: wired (WAN) and redundant (LTE module). In the event of a main channel failure, the technology automatically switches traffic to LTE. The average data transfer rate from the point of sale is 10 Mbps, which is enough for stable operation of all programs.
