Melih Khan Bilgin, President of the Turkish Petroleum Company (TPAO), said: TASSHe said that after the start of using the gas from the Sakarya field in the Black Sea, Turkey will continue to buy gas, including from Russia.

According to him, 99.5% of the country’s natural gas needs are supplied from abroad, both from Russia and from other suppliers. At the same time, its own gas should bring some balance in this regard.

“In any case, I am sure that Turkey will both buy and sell gas,” Bilgin said.

He also acknowledged that sourcing gas from Sakarya would allow Turkey to negotiate fuel discounts with Western countries.
