He was asked whether Turkey would eventually stop importing gas from other countries, including the Russian Federation and Iraq.
According to him, 99.5% of the country’s natural gas needs are supplied from abroad, both from Russia and from other suppliers. At the same time, its own gas should bring some balance in this regard.
“In any case, I am sure that Turkey will both buy and sell gas,” Bilgin said.
He also acknowledged that sourcing gas from Sakarya would allow Turkey to negotiate fuel discounts with Western countries.
