Moldavian “JSC “Energocom” will try to purchase natural gas in Greece. The aim is to create an alternative to fuel supply from Russia. In this regard reported TASS, referring to the company’s message.
He states that Energocom will purchase 24 MW/h (about 2.2 thousand cubic meters) of gas from Greek gas operator DEPA to test the functioning of the gas supply chain through Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.
The material says the gas will cross the Moldovan border through the Iasi-Ungheni point. The cost of fuel from Greece will be 45 euros per 1 MWh (477 euros per 1,000 cubic meters), excluding transport costs.
On April 9, Energocom JSC signed an EFET framework agreement with Greek gas operator DEPA in Athens. On April 7, Moldovagaz gas distribution company chairman Vadim Cheban said that Moldova has been able to save over $420 million in gas supply in 2022, thanks to the contract with the Russian company Gazprom.
