Matvienko urged to review the salaries of space industry workers

Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Federation Council, blogIn an article published on the chamber’s website in honor of Cosmonautics Day, he wrote that the reassessment of the salary system in state-owned enterprises in the space sector is the most important measure to restore the prestige of professions in this sector.

“I see the revision of the salary system in public enterprises as a priority measure,” he said.

According to the head of the Federation Council, it is difficult to expect a breakthrough from specialists with an engineer salary comparable to the salary of a supermarket cashier.

Matvienko noted that the space industry is currently in dire need of new junior staff and senior experts.

“After all, these are the country’s intellectual elite, we mustn’t forget that,” he concluded.
