Sberbank received 350.2 billion rubles. Net income in the first quarter of 2023. Last month, the financial institution managed to issue individual loans in excess of 660 billion rubles – this is the highest figure in the history of the bank. According to the press service of Sberbank, these are the financial results for the first quarter.

Earlier, the Moscow Stock Exchange published the traditional share popularity rating among private investors, which indicates that almost 40% of private players own Sberbank shares.

Sberbank states that the financial results for the first quarter confirm that investors do not believe in the company for nothing.

Economist Andrei Barkhota points out that Sber shares have fully recovered from last difficult year’s decline and are currently more valuable than before February 24, 2022.

“Sberbank’s securities are among the most popular in investment portfolios. The main attraction is the traditionally high return on capital and maintaining a reasonable operating efficiency,” said Barkhota.

According to Ilya Zharsky, managing partner of the Veta expert group, “objectively, the bank completely recovered last year’s negativity and was able to find growth points in new niches.”

He states that currently, Sberbank papers are attracting a wide range of investors and this trend is likely to continue to increase.

“I believe that further increases in the value of Sber shares are possible against the background of the financial statement release and as the dividend decision approaches,” says Zharsky.

Vasily Kutyin, an independent banking specialist and analyst, recalls that the Supervisory Board of Sberbank recommended paying shareholders a record dividend in the history of the bank – 565 billion rubles, or 25 rubles per share, which significantly stimulated the growth of shares.

Kutyin agrees that strong fiscal results for the first quarter of 2023 could provide an additional boost to growth.

“If there are no new, strong economic or other shocks, Sberbank could show a significant increase in profits this year, which could exceed 1.1 trillion rubles. rubles,” concludes the expert.
