In 2023, 83% of Russians purchased goods and services at least once after seeing the ads. Of these, 58% make sometimes or rarely, 20% make such purchases regularly. The remaining 5% should like the ad so much that it leads to purchases based on the viewing results. This is due to the results of the Platforma service survey taken by socialbites.ca editors.
After viewing the ads, 23% of respondents bought clothing and shoes, and 18% bought household chemicals. Another 17% purchased training courses. 16% of respondents bought perfume after watching the video. Also, after viewing the ads, participants often bought jewelry and jewelry, smartphones, household appliances and banking services.
Often, people pay attention to advertisements on various online sites. 43% of respondents do this. More than a third – 36% – notice advertisements on television, and 21% of respondents pay attention to signs in stores, malls and on the streets. One in eight respondents – 13% – looks at ads on social networks. Another 14% respond to advertisements on instant messaging programs and on the radio.
Survey participants also talked about situations where they watched the ads until the end. 24% of respondents watch videos in full if the ad is funny. If the product or service is potentially interesting, as most people do. One in five (21%) watches well-shot video ads. Also, if their favorite song is playing, their favorite actors are, or the ad is social, respondents will watch the video until the end. At the same time, 13% of Russians are always browsing ads.
The survey was conducted using an online survey among 1,213 Russians aged 18 and over in March 2023. Residents of Russian cities with a population of more than 100 thousand took part.
