PRUE Department of State and Municipal Finance Associate Professor GV Plekhanova Maria Dolgova revealed in an interview with the agency “Hitting the Primer”the cost of which goods will be affected by the weakening of the ruble against major foreign currencies.

The expert emphasized that the most obvious changes in the exchange rate will affect imported goods with a short shelf life. He explained that its costs include the costs of shipping, transshipment, insurance, storage in warehouses and paying taxes.

According to the expert, the increase in the price of such goods may occur in early April, with the exception of stocks already in warehouses in Russia. The economist noted that the prices of goods are also affected by other conditions, including effective demand.

Dolgova believes that electronics and household appliances could stay at the same level and even become cheaper, as a surplus of imported goods accumulated in warehouses at the beginning of last year. Against the same background, there is a decrease in consumer demand.

Seasonality affects the cost of products. For example, harvesting fresh domestic vegetables and fruits will lower the price of imported products.

It has been reported that there may be British snack shops before. start selling products from small sharks. The publication states that the UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has allowed fishermen to catch tars, a type of small shark. The ban has been in effect since 2010.
