World Bank President David Malpass said it was necessary to seek a “way out of the impasse” of the world’s poorest countries. DEA News.

He emphasized that one of the main topics of discussion at the next spring session will be the search for solutions to restructure the debts of such states.

“I would love to see a serious discussion on the debt stalemate,” Malpass said.

According to him, he wants the debtor country to file a request for an official suspension of debt service at the beginning of the restructuring process.

The head of the World Bank said that at the moment, lenders are spending months discussing issues that need to be agreed in advance.

“It’s important for us to make progress: countries need transparency and sustainable debt burdens to sustain investments,” Malpass added.

Former IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva stated about the growing fragility of the growing global economy against the backdrop of attempts by the world’s central banks to contain inflation.
