Due to the sharp increase in prices in Lithuania, residents of the country are forced to go to Poland to eat at the Easter table. In this respect informs Delphi.

According to Petras Čepkauskas, representative of the Pricer.lt portal, prices for most goods increased by almost 30%, except for some products. For example, in 2022 a dozen eggs cost 0.79-0.89 euros, and now the cheapest eggs cost at least 1.35 euros. The price of sugar rose from € 0.55 to € 0.99 per kg during the year.

He added that at the moment some Lithuanians are forced to shop in Poland because food prices there are still cheaper than in Lithuania. At the same time, it is also important to find products at a cheaper price. We are talking about the need to study the promotions and plan the necessary purchases before the trip.

The Pricer.lt representative added that Lithuanian residents are now buying fewer products. Also, when buying, people try to choose cheaper analogues. Therefore, in the near future, it remains only to check what prices are in which store before making a trip there.

April 6 online publication Idnes, with reference to Czech Statistical Office (CSO) data reportedIn the Czech Republic, in April this year, the cost of products used in the preparation of traditional Easter products increased by more than 30 percent compared to the same period last year.
