Ukraine clarifies timing of suspension of grain imports to Poland

Ukraine’s Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solsky, said after talks with his Polish counterpart, Robert Telyus, that the republic will refrain from exporting grain to Poland until the new marketing season, which will begin on July 1. His words were quoted by the Ukrainian newspaper Liga.

Solsky announced that on the eve of the new season, the parties will meet again and discuss the possibilities for further joint activities. At the moment, the ministers agreed that Ukraine can use Poland as a transit for the supply of grain products to third countries.

The material indicates that the decision to suspend imports will affect, among other things, Ukrainian wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed.

According to the publication, Solsky and Telyus will meet again next week to sign the relevant documents.
