“Microsoft has agreed to transfer US$2,980,265.86 to resolve potential civil liability for 1,339 flagrant violations of the Cuban Asset Control Regulation, the Iranian Transactions and Sanctions Regulation, the Syria Sanctions Regulation, and the Ukraine and Russia Sanctions Regulations in connection with the export of services or services. “Software for the United States of America in heavily sanctioned jurisdictions, as well as for special categories of citizens or blocked individuals.”

The ministry accused Microsoft of violating sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation by allowing its products to be used in Crimea. OFAC also noted that the behavior of Microsoft organizations is not malicious and they voluntarily disclose information on this subject.
