Nearly 130,000 tourists visited the Land of Leopards last year, thanks to events and infrastructure development, Bardyuk told reporters.

According to Olesya Storozhuk, Deputy Director for Environmental Education and Tourism, in the future it is planned to develop new tourism areas, including cave tourism, in the protected areas of the Federal State Budgetary Institution.

“For the first time we want to develop speleotism… The underwater world of the reserve is a new direction for us, not new for the marine reserve. We are reviving the old route and together with the dive centers we want to develop diving in the marine reserve in the Bolshoi Pelis area (on the island). The route was presented at an exhibition in Moscow and attracted a lot of attention from the target audience,” he said.
