US Deputy Energy Secretary David Turk has urged the European Union to buy gas faster for the next two winters, as additional volumes from the US won’t be available until a few years later. TASS.

He admitted that last winter was quite mild and his expectations of high fuel consumption were not justified.

“However <…> We cannot relax. And we must continue to make every effort for the coming winter. However, I think there is a general belief that if we do not relax, we will do what is necessary. <…> Then we can prepare for next winter.”

According to him, the European Union should consider stockpiling for the coming winter.
