The head of the Central Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshny, said that Kiev received the first tranche of $ 2.7 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under a new financing program. He announced this on his social networks.

“Ukraine received the first tranche from the IMF under the new extended financing program. That’s 2 billion special drawing rights, which equates to about $2.7 billion,” Pyshny wrote.

March 31 IMF Board of Directors approved 15.6 billion dollars was allocated to Ukraine under a 4-year loan program.

It was noted that this loan is the largest loan for Ukraine since the start of Russia’s special military operation and is the first major financing package approved by the IMF for a country in active conflict.
