Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang told his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi that Tokyo should not support US policy aimed at creating barriers to microcircuit production in China. In this respect reported Bloomberg.

“In the past, the US did not hesitate to halt the development of the semiconductor industry in Japan, and now it is repeating the same old tactics as China. Don’t treat others as you wouldn’t want to be treated.”

Qin Gang said that US restrictions on technology will only increase Beijing’s desire to achieve self-sufficiency in this area.

Hayashi’s visit to Beijing was the first visit of a Japanese foreign minister to China in over three years.

Earlier, Bloomberg wrote that the administration of US President Joe Biden is developing a plan to tighten the rules for exporting equipment for semiconductor manufacturing to China. According to the news of the agency, the head of state administration informed the producers that the announcement will be made in April. The initiative is encouraged to prevent Chinese industry from producing its own chips.
